中药材全息营养的概念由张勇飞等专家于2011年首次在《滋补中药的生产与营销》一书中提出，又通过2013年出版的《优质高效中药生产直通营销》一书中加以完善。什么是中药材全息营养？祖国传统中医学利用“天人合一”的宇宙全息规律将“自然”与“人体”通过类比的方法，建立了理、法、方、药的医学体系，中药材在防治人和动物疾病中完全遵循了宇宙全息理论而有效地使用，这被几千年的医学实践所证明，所以中药材全息营养是指某种中药材含有防治人和动物相对应的某种疾病的全部物质形态和能量与信息的场形态的营养总和 [2]  。
